The East Grinstead Mayor comes to visit the Foodbank

16th November 2016

After the success of our Harvest Appeal, and in the build-up to Christmas, it was greatly appreciated that the East Grinstead Mayor – Cllr. Bob Mainstone – took the time to visit our foodbank.

Bob visited with Mayoress Christine whilst the foodbank was open on Wednesday morning. He took a look around our well-stocked warehouse and met with the volunteers and management team to discuss our Christmas appeal. Reflecting on his visit, he said; “I now have a clear understanding of how the Food Bank offer support. I will be donating something for the Food Bank box every time I go shopping in Sainsburys in future.”

We are extremely grateful for the generous donations we have been already promised from organisations and individuals across East Grinstead. As mentioned last week, the Caravan Club have donated a large amount of bags, whilst we are receiving collections from Earlwood Young WI, Imberhorne School, Lingfield Notre Dame, The East Grinstead Rotary Club, and Colas at Rowfant.

Thanks to Cllr. Bob and Cllr. Christine for visiting. You can read more about their visit to our Foodbank on the East Grinstead Town Council website. Find out more here.
