How you can get involved with our Christmas Appeal

18th November 2016

Christmas is a time when family and friends get together and enjoy Christmas Dinner – probably the most important meal of the year! And here at the East Grinstead Foodbank, we need your support in making sure everyone in our community shares in this truly special occasion.

It’s a sad fact that 1 in 5 people in this country live below the poverty line, many of whom are children. This year, we will be distributing festive food hampers to the individuals and families who need them most. Here is how you can help:

What do we need?

– Christmas Puddings (small, medium and large)
– Mince Pies (make sure they have a post Christmas date)
-Christmas cake (small)
– Small, or boxes of festive cakes
– Boxes/tins of biscuits (small and large)
– Boxes/tins of sweets (small and large)
– Tinned Ham
– Custard (tinned)
– Family/individual sponge puddings
– Jam
– Savoury items such as nibbles, peanuts, crisps etc
– Christmas crackers

(All items must be in date, and cannot be homemade)

When to we need them?

Please donate by December 10 to allow for packaging and distribution!

Where to you need to take them?

Our collection points are the following: JCC, Trinity Church, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Barclays and Lloyds Bank on the High Street, Moatfield surgery & in the Forest Row Community Centre.

The East Grinstead Foodbank would like to extend our gratitude to all the organisations and individuals who have supported us already! For more information, listen in to a series of special bulletins by our friends at Meridian FM (timings TBA) or call our mobile on 07983-209940.
