The East Grinstead Trussell Trust was very grateful to receive so many donations for our Christmas Bags Appeal. Many of you chose to donate through the ‘Reverse Advent Calendar Scheme’ – a food-raising idea which was suggested by many Foodbanks (including us!) to coincide with the festive period.
The premise is simple; instead of indulging in a treat each morning of Advent, place one item of food into a box, or bag, and donate the contents after Christmas Eve! This easy but effective way of donating has gone some way to stocking our shelves in time for the New Year. Just recently, we received a completed Reverse Advent Calendar from Xander, who is just 9 years old. Well done Xander for being so generous!
