People turn to food banks when they don’t have enough money to survive.

Bills are going up, rents are sky high, and people can’t afford things like food and toiletries.

Lots of people who need food banks are in-between jobs, have health conditions or are looking after loved ones.

And some people are in work that doesn’t pay enough to get by.

Our social security system was created to protect us when we face situations like this  – but right now it’s falling short.

We can fix this by updating it to make sure that everyone, at the very least, can afford the essentials
