A January Update: Looking back on our successful Christmas Appeal

15th January 2017

It seems only yesterday that we were requesting donations for our Christmas Appeal, but now, having been open several times already in the New Year, we want to take the opportunity to look back on our success at the close of 2016. In the busy build up to Christmas Day, we were blown away by your generous response, and, as a result, we were able to close our appeal for general items, and Christmas-specific items earlier than expected! With the help of our volunteers and steering committee, we then packaged your donations into Christmas hampers. In total, we distributed 136 Hampers to clients who were either referred by external agencies, or visited the foodbank with a red referral voucher.

This wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of several local businesses, schools and social groups, who took part in our Christmas Bags Scheme. Thank you, in particular, to the following:

Thank you to all – both groups and individuals – who gave so generously to our Christmas Appeal. With your help, we made sure that 135 local individual & families in crisis received the gift of food in time for Christmas Day. Looking towards the New Year, we always welcome your support.
