Can You Help With Our Harvest Appeal?

28th September 2017

Summer is coming to a close, and soon, autumn will be upon us. In the Sussex countryside, farmers will be reaping their crops, just in time before the frost sets in. Historically, the Harvest period was a time of abundance and reflection on the year past. This year, we’re asking you to help provide food to those in crisis.

The Harvest Appeal is being ran by Foodbanks across the UK as we move into the busy winter period. As always at East Grinstead, we are reliant on your support. It has been a bumper year for us, and thanks to you, we have already ran several successful initiatives and appeals. With the help of local individuals, groups and businesses, we distributed 100 bags to families in need during the school holidays. We were also able to give out 136 hampers in time for Christmas Day. But there is still more to be done. By supporting our Harvest Appeal you will allow us to provide for vulnerable families and persons over the coming months.

To take part in our Harvest Appeal, simply donate food through one of the many drop-off points in East Grinstead and Lindfield. In particular we need:

  • Tinned ham
  • Tinned custard
  • Jam
  • Tinned fruit
  • Pasta sauce
  • Hot Dogs
  • Tubs of sweets
  • Tinned rice pudding
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Packets of biscuits
  • Small cereal packs
  • Tinned meatballs
  • Tinned tuna
  • Tinned tomatoes
  • Small jars of coffee
  • Sponge pudding

If you can’t donate now don’t worry, we will be announcing our 2017 Christmas appeal soon!

We are dependent on your help; thank you for your continued support.
