THANK YOU: for supporting the lobby day

Thank you very much to everyone who came along to the Guarantee our Essentials lobby day yesterday. It was amazing to see more than 700 representatives from food banks, other food community organisations, other charities, and people with lived experience come together to tell MPs why no one should go without the essentials and urge them to take action.

• If you attended lobby day, please contact your MP(s) to thank them for meeting with you and remind them of what they agreed to do next.

• If you were unable to attend lobby day, please  consider organising a meeting with your MP(s). There is an MP meeting briefing that you can use to help you hold your meetings. If you do hold a meeting, please let us know by emailing [email protected].

• In the coming weeks, a Bill will be going through Parliament where MPs will vote on the proposed cuts to disabled people’s social security. If enough MPs vote against it, we can stop this Bill from becoming law and show the UK government why they need to make our social security system fit for purpose. Please email your MP to vote against the proposed cuts to disabled people’s support and share the action with your networks and encourage them to do the same.
